LEADERS THAT WE ARE.
Hi Everybody,
Welcome to another great week!
I believe Today's Note and TGIM addresses leaders, so I'll address you all as leaders. Today, let's talk to ourselves!
Have you all noticed that it seems tolerance level is decreasing? In the name of being managers, being accountable to our bosses, having deadlines, people being at our mercy, patience is being replaced by the 'Give It To Me NOW!' attitude. A thousand and one things are clamoring for our time, and we hardly have the extra patience to wait for the seemingly slow 'tortoises.'
For those who still have what is known as conscience, there's a battle in their minds over doing what is right, (e.g. giving other people the benefit of doubt, being more lenient e.t.c.), OR giving it to them real hard as they deserve it. We sometimes hear ourselves giving the 'If Nots....' excuses
If not because I'm a Christian... ... If not because he/she is a member of my church ... ... If not because we are from the same hometown....
However, inside each and every one of us is the knowledge of what is right. There's a clear difference between doing things right, and doing the right things.
We might not all be Managers, Supervisors, HODs, CEOs, COOs e.t.c right now, but the seed of greatness is in all of us. We are born of a Great God, made in His Image and Likeness, and I tell you, that overrides our present jobs as Admin Assistants, Marketers, Parents, Teachers, Tellers, Accountants, Engineers....
No matter what the prevailing circumstances are at work, school, church, home or wherever we find ourselves, we have to DECIDE TO ALWAYS SAY AND DO RIGHT! The pull to retaliate is strong, but remember that LEADERS ALWAYS SAY AND DO THINGS RIGHT ! Your ability to always say and do the right things distincts you, places you on top and cuts you out as a true breed of a leader! True Leaders Lead By Their Personal Example!
Doing it the right way is instantly penalizing people when they go wrong, but doing the right thing is giving concessions and forgiving them as appropriate.
People would always annoy you, PLEASE LET US BE MORE PATIENT.
People would always fail and disappoint you, PLEASE LET'S BE MORE TOLERANT.
People would always get on your nerves, BUT PLEASE LET US GIVE CONCESSIONS.
WE ARE ALL BORN TO BE LEADERS, LET US JUSTIFY OUR TRUE NATURE!
