Giving.

You can give without loving, but if you love, you will give.

God loves the world, we all know that. John 3:16 says 'For God so loved the world that He gave…' He didn't just give; He went the extra mile with a sacrificial giving. And as the Almighty God , He is passionate and committed to outdoing us mortals in giving. Ephesians 3:20 says ' Now to Him Who, by/in consequence of the action of His power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams ', He has your back covered!!

On our parts, we claim to love God. My question is: how do we show we truly love Him? Human beings visit those they love and talk to them, so I wonder if our love for God is expressed by going to His designated House – church, and talking to Him through prayers. These are necessary, but they could end up being mere activities if care is not taken. There is more to love than that!

We want God to prosper us, we want Him to increase us and we want to be fulfilled in life with God's help. But real fulfilment in life, ministry, career, health and family is beyond what you do, say, think or who you connect with. Real Fulfilment is in giving and not self-centeredness. If you love, you'll give. 'For God so loved the world that He gave…' -.John 3:16.

One respected Christian Leader writes: 'When I set about the task of loving I usually end up giving instead'. . STOP right there! Check your life, is that true of you? He continues: Love inevitably costs me 3 commodities that are most precious: I. My Time II. My Energy III. My Money

I don't part with these easily… because I have them in limited qualities… it is time to strip away the false glamour that the world (and sometimes the church) puts on loving, and tell the truth: True Love Is Sacrificial Love.'

In loving God, you will make sacrifices. Talk about denying yourself sleep because you want to spend time talking to God…talk about redeeming your pledges when your bills are due…talk about spending extra time in church after service for unit meetings when you actually work 6-days a week. It's not about the activities, otherwise quit them right now! It's about your heart desire to give back to God. If you can't give Him food and care, then be numbered among His service people!

In loving God, you will need to love His people. This will make a demand on your time, energy, patience, care, love and money. But I can assure you it wouldn't be in vain. ' Then Peter chimed in, "We left everything and followed you. What do we get out of it?" Jesus replied, "Yes, you have followed me. In the re-creation of the world, when the Son of Man will rule gloriously, you will also rule . And not only you, but anyone who sacrifices home, family, fields--whatever-because of me will get it all back a hundred times over, not to mention the considerable bonus of eternal life – Matt 19: 27-29.

Remember:

'For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labour and the love which you have shown for His name's sake in ministering to the needs of the saints (His own consecrated people), as you still do .' – Hebs 6:10

Sacrificial love may cost you, but the rewards are out of this world!

Love, Janmo!
