Come On....
Where are you right now, in your late 20’s, early, mid or late 30’s…?
Have you concluded you are too old/inexperienced to invent/start anything that can change the face of history?
Do you feel it is too late to make a difference?
Is the challenge too small, or do you think the challenge is more than what your 1-man army can tackle?
Are you thinking of just maintaining your status quo, after all, a Yoruba proverb says it would be easier to break a smoked fish than to straighten it.
That is because you are seeing just yourself. STOP IT! You need to start seeing what resources are available to you in Christ. As long as you try to control situation, you will be limited, but once you give God your ‘5 loaves and 2 fishes’, you can sit back and watch it multiply to feed nations.
I tell you, God is not looking for able vessels, He’s looking for available vessels. Taking clues from others who have gone before us; ‘that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence’ (1st Corin 1:26-30) While they were strong in certain areas, they struggled in other areas. But because they kept at it, God used them powerfully.
Not just based on your passion or heart cry, inquire from God what your call is, make up your mind and venture out. Remember everything big starts little. Do not despise your little beginnings, and allow nobody ridicule you. Even if they do, they’ll be back to celebrate you.
You are just the vessel, the power, wisdom and glory is of God ‘that no flesh should glory in His presence’ (1st Corin 1:30). Do your part: ‘take your seemingly feeble, human steps’, and God who said ‘on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it’ (Matt 16:18) can be trusted to keep His words.
Even Jesus had to trust God, and thank God He is seated at the position of success right now. You wouldn’t be the first to thread the uncertainty/unknown path, but be confident that ‘of God you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD' (1st Corin 1:30).
Come On….
Love, Janmo!
