TGIF!

God wants His children to lift up their eyes and see beyond their present levels. His present word for them is ‘There is yet Another Level!’ He wants them to see the new levels in their relationships, marriages, jobs, businesses, academics, ministries, His call upon them and every other aspect of their lives.

The question is how do we see and activate the new level in our lives???

I saw a Christian book on Saturday titled ‘TGIF’ and I wondered what a Christian author had to do with TGIF…. TGIF is a relatively known phrase and it means ‘Thank God It’s Friday’. It’s a timeout on Fridays as ‘guys’ start the weekend on a good note.

Don’t get me wrong, TGIFs can be innocent. I once got into a discussion as to whether it’s right or not for Christians to go for TGIFs and the conclusion was that what happens at TGIFs is what you make of it. (But peculiar to most TGIFs are lots of drinks and other things I’m ignorant of because I’ve never gone for any).

You can imagine my shock when I realized this particular TGIF wasn’t thanking God for another Friday, but stood for ‘Today God Is First’.

I was tripped with that definition!

The next day, I heard God say ‘Olajumoke, there’s always another level as long as TGIF’.

I tell you, as long as God is first, there will always be a new level. E.g.
1. The earth was without form and darkness was everywhere…, And God said…. Then God saw everything … and indeed it was very good. (Gen 1:1, 3, 31) With God, there’s always a level higher than formlessness and darkness

2. Joseph wasn’t popular with his folks and his ‘Oga’s’ wife also lied against him. He could have perished in the pit, as a slave or in prison. But ‘… because the LORD was with him; whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper. (Gen 37:23)’. With God, there’s always a new level beyond the pit, slavery and prison

3. As a slave and ex-convict, ‘… all countries came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain (Gen 41:57)’. Why? Because With God, there’s always a new level after slavery or prison

4. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were young ‘born-again’ slaves under the rule of an atheist King, but they had proposed TGIF in their hearts. When they were faced with a fiery furnace, their reply was ‘If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us.… (Dan 3:14)’ And guess what, God proved Himself! With God, there’s always a new level beyond a fiery burning furnace.

Where are you right now? I tell you, There Is A New level after that! Take each day at a time and decide: ‘Today, God is First.’

And as you do that, God will rise up and prove Himself on your behalf. He will cause you to ride upon your high places.
